This lovely sunset at the oceanside with silhouetted trees is another example of our beautiful sunsets here in the Kona area. Add a sense of peace and tranquility from the day's stresses. Make your room a place to kick back, relax and unwind. This is stunning on metal (either gloss or satin finish) or choose the metalic canvas option under the gallery wrapped canvas media.
Kohanaiki Beach Park, known to the locals as "Pine Trees" is a popular surfing spot and local keiki (children) surf competitions are held there annually. We drive clear to the end of the allowed parking then hike out on a provided trail and even beyond the paved parts. You can find a hale (shelter), a garden with all types of native Hawaiian plants, mostly food sources, and a big circular star compass called KE PĀNĀNĀ HŌKŪ similar to what the ancient Polynesians used to navigate the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is a work in progress that is well on it's way and interesting to visit for those wanting to know more about the Polynesian culture.
